Standard Based Grading

What is Standards-Based Grading?

Standards-Based Grading is an approach to grading that puts the learning at the center. Rather than grades that may reflect behaviors, standards-based grading ensures that all grades are directly correlated to a standard from the assigned course.

Why Standards-Based Grading?

Standards-Based Grading ensures that all assignments and assessments are directly aligned to the learning standard. This practice creates student-agency as the learner is now able to clearly identify their own points of confusion because the grading shows them exactly what standards they still need to work on.

Eastside ECHS is working towards adopting SBG as a schoolwide practice.
