Message from the Principal

My name is Andrew K. Bailey and I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Eastside Early College High School. I am honored to have been selected to join the Austin Independent School District, which is well known for its focus on equity and a collective responsibility for student achievement.

Over the past decade, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, both at the campus and district level. My philosophy of education is that all students on our campus can learn at high levels, and that it is our responsibility as a school community to ensure student learning takes place.

Our beautiful, state of the art campus is attached to history, being built on the grounds and in the likeness of the former L.C. Anderson High School. The legacy of the former L.C. Anderson building has literally been embedded into our building, providing us the opportunity to honor our past while building our future. This type of bridge connects us to our community and makes our campus one of the most unique schools in the nation, and we take great pride in that. My ultimate goal is for students to leave our campus with this same sense of pride in both themselves and their community.

I am thankful for the opportunity to bring all that I have experienced and learned with me to this vibrant and historic community. I look forward to the work we will do together. Our “Campus on a Hill” cannot be hidden, and we will showcase the excellence our students possess.

Andrew K. Bailey
