Communities In Schools

Communities In Schools is an on-campus support program for students. It provides academic, social and emotional support for students in both a group and individual settings. CIS is here to help students not only be successful in school but also in life. 

Communities in Schools at Eastside offers several programs to support students within CIS including:

XY Zone  A leadership program for students that idenitfy as male that allows for students to participate in community service projects on campus and in the community.

Compass to College (C2C) Program This program raises awareness of higher education and career opportunities, develops pre-employment skills, promotes peer and leadership characteristics, and builds self-esteem and social abilities for future success.

GEAR UP

GEAR UP stands for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs. It is a seven year federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education promoting college readiness and success through multiple strategies, this program is offered at all of the Austin ISD Early College High Schools. GEAR UP is a program specifically for the Class of 2024 led by Laura Olvera. GEAR UP Offerings include, job site visits, college visits, tutoring, workshops on various topics, college prep, and more!
